By Kenya England

Teeth like any other organ is important and even though you brush them every day, it is important to make regular visits to your dentist in Lebanon tn for an official checkup, if you think you have stayed for too long before going for a checkup, here are the signs you should make a visit before they progress into more serious conditions.

If you are frequently having tooth pain, you should not ignore this or attempt to treat it, instead go see a dentist so he can determine if the cause of the pain is something as simple as cavity, sensitive teeth or if it is something serious like periodontal disease or any other dental condition.

There are prescribed medicines with side effect that can make you have a dry mouth but if this continues for a while and does not stop, it is a cause for alarm. This is because you may be suffering from a disease which affects the immune. In such a case that the immune system is damaged, it means that the system has no defense, the gum can have an infection and if this happens it can end up causing tooth and gum decay.

If your gum is swollen it means that plaque has accumulated in your gum. The swelling can turn out to be something else other than dental problem, but if it has accumulated then you should get checked, reason being, you may be having periodontitis or gingivitis. These two conditions are very serious and if they are not treated on time they can end up damaging your teeth or even worse make you lose them.

A white spot on your tooth is an indication that the tooth is decaying. If the tooth suffers an infection, it will eventually lead to dental decay. The infection affects the enamel and causes it to dissolve because of an acid which is a product of bacteria, therefore causing the decay.

When you have consistent headaches in the morning see the dentist. Most people do not associate headaches with teeth problems. You might be having the headaches because of other reasons, but if they occur especially in the morning it might mean that you clench your teeth when sleeping. In such a situation a night guard would be helpful to prevent the clenching.

Gingivitis can cause bad breath and if it is not treated in time it can result to periodontitis, which may eventually lead to you being toothless, it may also cause other serious health conditions. After regularly brushing your teeth you are not supposed to have bad breath and if this is the case then gingivitis might be the cause.

Without a doubt teeth is essential, and if you are experiencing any of the signs named above, make an appointment with the dentist since some of them if left untreated can result to bad experience like tooth loss. Even though most people practice good oral care a checkup every often is very important.
