One of the branches in the field of medicine is biomedicine. This field takes a different approach to clinical practice through biological and physiological principles. Biomedicines as a branch of medicine mainly applies to biology and physiology. This field does not only apply to medical science but also other fields mainly related to biology and health.

Biomedicine has a lot of sub branches, principally those that begin with the prefix of the word bio. Biostatistics, biological engineering, toxicology, cytogenetics, cell biology, biotechnology, genetics, pathology, virology, molecular biology, anatomy and physiology are among the sub branches. Such sub branches utmost share many common similarities. Through short transitional courses, a student can shift between these subspecialties with no difficulties.

As a field, modern health care and laboratory diagnostics are based on medical biology. Medical biology as a field is concerned with various kinds of scientific and technological approaches. These methods cut across both biology and physiology. The methods used in this area vary from understanding the connections at molecular level to understanding its significance at the level of in vivo. These procedures are put under study to assist in coming up with new approaches for diagnosis and therapy.

Biomedicine field pinpoints maladies among persons or individuals, plants and animals, and continues to examine them. Through the field, medical mediation methods are created. Biomedicine greatly focuses on refining the health of the persons affected or entity unlike the entire medicine field. For medicine field, focuses on healing the diagnosed maladies the person suffers from. .

Molecular biology is a very important branch within the field of biomedicine. It deals with the process of synthesizing and regulating protein, RNA, and DNA in cells. There are various techniques used in molecular biology, which include Gel electrophoresis, macromolecule blotting, and polymerase chain reaction. All these techniques are used in manipulating DNA in humans and animals.

In the process of polymerase chain reaction it involves mixing of nucleotide bases, DNA, primers and DNA polymerase after which it is placed in a machine. The machine is used to heat and cool the mixture at variable temperatures. During this process the hydrogen bond binding DNA is broken making it possible for nucleotide bases to be added into the DNA strands creating a new pattern of DNA strand.

Another method utilized in molecular biology is Gel electrophoresis. This method makes it possible to identify same DNA in samples of unknown DNA. This technique entails the formulation of an agarose gel which has wells where DNA is poured before applying an electric current. After the above procedure is done, the DNA strands get attracted to the positive electrode but this is conditional to the protein groupings contained in the DNA.

Since the strands have diverse sizes, it normally causes the pace at which DNA strands pass to the positive electrode to differ. One can identify with eases if both strands are look-alike from the shape they display when making a move. Those strands that are alike usually have a tendency to make movement at the equivalent rate and display same pattern.
