By Anna Stone

Anti inflammatory drugs are some of the most commonly prescribed solutions for people who are bugged by arthritic pain and swelling. Unfortunately, they're frowned upon because they are known to cause a number of side effects as well as health risks. Due to this, many are seeking alternative treatments, in particular non invasive ones with minimal risks involved. One of the most popular today is laser home therapy for arthritis.

It works by using concentrated light to encourage circulation to the joints affected by the degenerative disease. Such leads to a reduction in swelling. Laser use also promotes pain control. Experts, however, suggest using this alternative remedy with a bunch of all natural solutions if you want to achieve optimum results.

Take ginger or turmeric tea on a regular basis. There are a couple of spices that are admired for their ability to deal with inflammation, and they're ginger and turmeric. Actually, they are related to one another so relying on any of them allows for the attainment of relief. Ginger and turmeric are usually consumed in the form of tea, although they can also be used more liberally as culinary spices.

Massage a little cayenne pepper on the swollen area. Cayenne pepper is another spice that is admired for its ability to reduce swelling. All you need to do is combine a tablespoon of it with a few drops of water. Mix and the resulting paste should be applied on your aching joint. Wait for about 20 minutes to pass before washing it off with water.

Soak in epsom salt. What makes epsom salt different from table salt is the fact that it contains magnesium. According to scientists, magnesium is highly beneficial for people with arthritis as it helps in relieving joint pain. Affected areas such as the hand, wrist or elbow may be soaked in a large bowl of warm water with 1/2 cup of epsom salt dissolved in it. If the pain is situated in an inconvenient area like the knee and lower back, submerging in a tub of warm water with 2 cups of epsom salt in it is a more effective solution.

Have oily fish often. Oily fish is helpful for those who are pestered by arthritis because it's a wonderful source of omega 3 fatty acids. According to scientists, omega 3 fatty acids are powerful healers of inflamed joints. Some good examples of oily fish with lots of omega 3 fatty acids are trout, sardines, mackerel and tuna.

Add some nuts and seeds to the diet. Someone who is experiencing joint pain and inflammation may also regularly snack on a handful of nuts. That's because they also supply the body with omega 3 fatty acids that are beneficial for the joints. Sprinkling some seeds like sesame seeds and flax seeds on oatmeal, yogurt or any other healthy kind of snack is also recommended as they're rich in those omega 3 fatty acids, too.

Get your regular dose of exercise. Working out regularly is highly beneficial for people like you who are suffering from arthritis for a couple of reasons. First, it maintains flexibility and range of motion. Seconds, it allows you to drop unwanted kilos, thus keeping your knees, ankles, hips and other weight bearing joints safe from harm.
