You should never demand that they change almost immediately. If you do, they will try to rebel and will not try to help themselves. This change may take time and should be done on their own terms. If they try to change immediately, it may cause adverse effects on their health, instead.

You need to encourage them to manage their emotions in a healthy way. You need to provide encouragement to these people as that is the most that they need. It will power them to change and treat themselves from these disorders.

If you have done all the talks that you can do, it may be time for this person to seek professional help. There are a lot of hospitals and clinics offering their services to the public at various costs. These treatments typically include therapy, counseling, support groups, and residential treatments. There are also medical professionals who specializes in helping them to get over these negative emotions.

However, hospitalization could be needed in several instances. It could be needed if the individual is malnourished dangerously, thinking to commit suicide because of their severe depressions, suffer from complications, as well as gets worse even when treatments are undergone. During these cases, you really need to be patient as well as compassionate.
