You simply can't become a good phlebotomist if you cannot stand the sight of blood. For people with a weak stomach this career isn't for you. Not everybody has been exposed to these type of situations. You might want to consider another career if you realize that phlebotomy just isn't for you. Blood isn't the only issue though, a patient may also get sick and throw up.

A phlebotomy career is a superb approach to help people while doing something interesting. As long as you love working with people and also have a strong stomach you will be happy being employed as a phlebotomist. Working in the healthcare industry is extremely enjoyable and provides superb job security so go for it.
