Each system in our body has its own function. The immune system's function is to fight off substances that will harm our body such as bacteria and viruses. In short, it acts as the protector of our body. But there are people are who has a hypersensitive immune system which attacks harmless substances. This is the case of people with allergy. When the body encounters an allergen it stimulates special cells. Such special cells can trigger allergic reaction which causes inflammation and swelling as well as sneezing, itchy eyes, and runny nose.

Allergic asthma is one of the types of asthma that is often triggered by allergens the same as those with people who have allergy. By inhaling this specific substance which includes pollen, molds, and dust mites as well as smoke, dust, fumes, and sometimes strong smells, the symptoms of allergic asthma manifests. When these allergens enter the body the immune system overreacts and causes the airways to tighten making it inflamed and flooded with thick mucus.

Allergens are not the only ones that can trigger these symptoms but also irritant. Such irritants includes air pollution, cold air, dusty workplace as well as tobacco smoke, strong chemical odors, and perfumes. You can tell that allergic asthma has the same symptoms as non-allergic asthma. Such symptoms include rapid breathing, shortness of breath, tightness of chest, coughing, and wheezing. For people who are suffering to such disorder it is important they fully understand what triggers the symptoms so that they can prevent it from occurring.

When it comes to allergic asthma, it is important that you learn to control it. An effective way of doing it is by limiting yourself from the exposure of allergens. Determining the allergens to which you've become sensitized is very much beneficial to avoid asthma attacks. What you can do is you should eliminate dust mites by washing your sheets and other bedding once a week in very hot water. If moisture is a problem in your home, then you should use a dehumidifier or air conditioner. Keep in mind to always have the air filters of your air conditioner clean.

You should consult a specialist to help you create an effective treatment plan for you to follow. You should religiously obey whatever you are told because it is for own good. Such condition has not known cure which is why prevention the best cure for it as of the moment.
